A new king has been crowned.
While the pomp and circumstance of King Charles III’s coronation weekend is far from over, the new monarch and wife Queen Camilla were crowned at Westminster Abbey on Saturday morning, surrounded by some of the highest rulers of the world.
Charles bucked tradition with his outfit for the occasion, trading breeches and silks for a crimson coronation tunic over a white overshirt and his own military pants — which he wore underneath the same robe his grandfather King George VI wore to his own coronation in 1937.
Royal fans predicted the new monarch would opt for a more modern look, as a royal insider told The Sun the traditional garb was deemed “too dated.”
During the ceremony, both Charles and Camilla were crowned with meaningful royal pieces as part of the sacred ceremony.
At the moment of coronation, King Charles donned the Colobium Sindonis, which is a simple white gown, before being bestowed with the golden Supertunica and the historic St. Edward’s Crown; he then wore the Imperial State Crown upon leaving the abbey.
Below, see what everyone from the Prince and Princess of Wales to Jill Biden and other international monarchs wore to the historic coronation.
The newly crowned Queen Camilla wore an ivory gown by Bruce Oldfield featuring silver and gold embroidery depicting the national flowers of the United Kingdom. She accessorized with the iconic Coronation Necklace, which boasts a jaw-dropping 22.48-carat pendant known as the Lahore Diamond.
She was crowned with the same headpiece Queen Mary used in 1911, although she added jewels from Queen Elizabeth’s collection to honor her late mother-in-law.
Camilla also paid tribute to her husband’s mother by wearing the same robe Elizabeth wore to her own coronation 70 years ago.
The Princess of Wales went with her favorite fashion house, Alexander McQueen, for the historic day. She wore an ivory silk crepe gown with silver bullion and threadwork embroidery featuring rose, thistle, daffodil and shamrock motifs, the same symbolic florals seen on Queen Camilla’s dress.
She accessorized with Princess Diana’s earrings and Queen Elizabeth’s George VI Festoon Necklace, and skipped a tiara in favor of a Jess Collett x Alexander McQueen headpiece with three-dimensional leaf embroidery.
As Prince William and Kate Middleton’s eldest child, Prince George, 9, was given the honor of serving as one of the King’s Pages of Honor. As such, he helped carry his grandfather’s robe and wore a red uniform.
The 8-year-old royal adorably twinned with her mom, wearing a miniature version of the same silver headpiece and a matching Alexander McQueen cape dress with the same embroidery motifs to represent the four nations.
The youngest child of the Waleses, 5 — who couldn’t stop yawning during the ceremony — wore an outfit made by Dege and Skinner comprised of a blue lace-trimmed tunic and trousers.
Prince Harry arrived at his father’s coronation solo, leaving wife Meghan Markle in California with son Archie, who turned 4 on Saturday, and daughter Lilibet, 1.
Though he left right after the ceremony in Westminster Abbey to return home to his family, the Duke of Sussex sat in the third row wearing a simple suit and his military medals, though he was barred from wearing his full uniform amid the family’s rift.
The first lady attended the coronation with her granddaughter Finnegan, as President Joe Biden remained in the United States.
The two women dressed in the colors of the Ukrainian flag in support of the country, which is currently under attack by Russia.
Dr. Biden wore a blue Ralph Lauren skirt suit and matching gloves, while her granddaughter wore a pale yellow midi dress and matching cape by Markarian, along with a Gigi Burris headband adorned with roses, the official flower of Washington, DC.
Prince Andrew’s daughter arrived in a fuchsia Beulah London puff-sleeved midi dress with a wide headband.

The singer, who will perform at the coronation concert tomorrow night, looked regal in a lavender Vivienne Westwood blazer and dress, which she accessorized with a matching headband and opera-length gloves.
Kate Middleton’s mother, Carole, sported a chic blue coat dress.
Kate Middleton’s sister, Pippa, wore a pastel yellow dress and fascinator; her husband, James Matthews, coordinated with a matching vest.
Lady Louise Windsor
Prince Edward’s daughter wore a chic blue-and-white floral Suzannah London frock.
Princess Anne’s daughter looked lovely in a powder blue coat dress with a feathered fascinator.
Lady Helen Taylor
The daughter of Prince Edward, Duke of Kent, looked very ladylike in a black-and-white bolero jacket, flat-brimmed hat and Dior heels.
Justin and Sophie Trudeau
The Prime Minister of Canada held hands with his wife, who wore a mauve Ted Baker dress with sheer sleeves.
King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Queen Jetsun Pema
The Bhutanese monarchs wore coordinating looks featuring shades of purple.
King Letsie III and Queen Masenate Mohato Seeiso
The King and Queen of Lesotho matched in blue.

Thailand’s monarchs looked regal in military attire.
Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary
Denmark royals Frederik and Mary wore a military uniform and purple midi dress, respectively.
King Abdullah II and Queen Rania
While the king of Jordan wore a simple suit, his wife was one of many in yellow, clad in Tamara Ralph Couture.
With the coronation festivities just beginning, there will be plenty more royal fashion this weekend.
On Sunday, Katy Perry, Andrea Bocelli and Lionel Richie will perform at a coronation concert sure to feature plenty of sparkle and shine.
