This year’s 2023 Met Gala pays tribute to the late German-born fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld, whose prodigious work was seen at Fendi, Chanel, Chloé and his eponymous label. A number of celebrities and personalities chose to attend the event at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on 1st May, honouring the theme, ‘Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty.’ An exhibition examining Lagerfeld’s works will be on display at the venue, alongside sketches and 150 pieces of fashion attire.

What is the Met Gala
Like previous years, the Met Gala is organised by Anna Wintour, the longtime editor-in-chief of Vogue magazine. The Met Gala is a charity event known for its fundraising efforts for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute.
Who is at the 2023 Met Gala
Typically, about 600 attendees join the charity event. Big names like Madonna, actress Blake Lively, Priyanka Chopra and Lady Gaga have regularly attended. This year, we’re seeing new faces at the Met Gala including Dato’ Michelle Yeoh, K-Pop singer Jackson Wang, Blackpink’s Jennie, Cai Xu Kun, South Korean actor Song Hye-kyo and model Sora Choi, on top of the usual bigwigs like Doja Cat, Kim Kardashian, Rihanna and Jared Leto.
